New Blog!

Hello everyone. So the purpose of this blog is to keep my friends living mainly in the United States updated to everything that has to do with my life but specifically to my fencing career. I want for everyone who has supported me in the last 11 years of my fencing career to be informed of what I'm doing, and where I'm located at a certain point in time. I hope you guys like this and follow it as you please. I will be writing it mostly in english but a little bit of spanish as well so if you can't understand some stuff feel free to ask.

I guess I'll start this blog with the last tournament in the United States.
Date: Saturday, June 19th 2010
Tournament: 2010 Sunshine State Games
Location: Lakeland, Florida
Event: Men's Open Foil
Place: 2nd Place

So my day started pretty bad. There were 5 of us in my pool. My first two bouts of my pool I lost. I lost 4-5 on both of them first to
Aeron Van Scoyk and then to Eduardo Andrade. At this point I knew that if I wanted a good result at this tournament i had to pick up my form. The final two bouts I fenced long time friend Wayne Frey which I beat 5-2 and George Bushak which i beat 5-0. This way I seeded 14th and had to fence Aeron again in my first direct elimination bout. I think I beat him 15-6 this matched me up with the number three seed and a great friend Amir Rubin. I forgot the final score against him but I think it was 15-9. Next came David Porter who I had never fenced before. This turned out to be a pretty tough bout and i think i won 15-10. Now into the semis i had to face one of the best fencers in the area and that's Jonathan Lord. I beat him in a close 15-13 bout. I was winning 14-9 and he made an amazing come back and I would like to congratulate him. WELL I made it to my first Suunshine State Final. Now all i needed to do was beat an Atlanta 1996 Olympian, a bronze medal winner at a recent World Cup and the 92nd ranked fencer in the world. His name Rafael Suarez. Well it turned out to be one of the toughest and hardest bouts of my life and I lost 15-7. He is one of the best fencers I've seen fence. Well this is it about this tournament. It was a good finish to my fencing career in the states. All in total I have won more than 50 medals in my 8 years fencing here.
